PROJECT SUMMARY

This property is located on several acres in Colfax, NC where there are no ambien or street lights leaving this home overly dark. Outdoor security lighting was very important to the homeowners and extra attention was placed in this lighting design to provide a safe and serene environment and home.

LIGHTING FOCUS:

Our focus was first placed on Outdoor Security Lighting. “Shine the Light on the Problem.” Illuminating the entire front and sides of the home statistically decrease break ins, making more difficult for someone to go unnoticed. Usually the garage side of the home is the most vulnerable to intrusion. Many times it’s the darkest area and you are opening the garage door allowing access to your inner part of the home. Extra attention was placed in making sure that the homes outdoor lighting enhanced the safety of the property, but did so in a soothing, natural way.

This home could have been illuminated with flood lights and provided security lighting, but the effect would have been harsh, unattractive, prison yard lighting. Not to mention the electric bill would be increased dramatically using line voltage instead of low 12 volt lighting.
